The Spirit of the Lord

Those outside the Church of Christ do not accept the fact of an evil principle governing their perspective and motives. Those inside have the supreme power of God’s Spirit, which enables them to see the evil principle at work. The called must, however, work out their salvation with fear and trembling so not to grieve the Spirit. The Spirit governs, but not in a mechanical sense. We may characterize those governed by the evil principle as mechanical, however. They live unaware of the supernatural forces that exist and without thinking simply react to circumstances, remaining oblivious as to their origins. God graciously affords the Christian with insight into Spiritual matters.

Recorded in Matthew 2:13 the Angel of the Lord appears unto Joseph and warns of impending danger regarding “the young child.” The Angel of the Lord commands Joseph to flee to Egypt and escape Herod’s indignation. Why would omnipotent God take such measures as opposed to simply killing Herod? Long ago, Satan and his devotees rebelled and God, in His inscrutable wisdom, allows them to remain active. Yet, God uses them to accomplish His overall plan for all and the earth itself. God is always in complete control; and ultimately, this is God’s war. We see that God fulfills prophesy in this event as we go on to read Matthew 2:15.

Many become discouraged when a certain political leader leaves office or perhaps when another attains the same office. The mindset is that we are losing the battle, and something must take place so that we may re-establish ourselves. Yet, who can stand in the way of God’s plan? This perspective betrays a lack of understanding of not only who is in control, but what is actually taking place; God’s overarching plan. The sovereign will of God remains intact and unabated, always, and forever.

Here we must realize the vital importance of working out salvation with fear and trembling. A heightened sense of the reality on earth; the supernatural forces battling all around us. The Spirit of the Lord keeps us from evil. Let us strive for an understanding of what the Spirit of God would have us do. Not privileged to know all, however; we are privileged to have the Comforter who will lead us through the pitfalls and to certain everlasting glory. Expect trials owing to the ever-present evil that persists. Christians have the advantage of being enabled to walk with the Spirit through this life. Seeing our need let us strive not the quench the Spirit.

Perfect Order

Many claim to be Christian. Yet, I assert few pray to the one true living God revealed in Scripture. The faithful do not conceptualize earthly riches when looking upon Jesus Christ dying in agony on the cross at Calvary. Sin does not discriminate between the haves and the have nots of the world. Redemption from the Lord, however, is indiscriminate regarding this matter. The faithful think not what they may gain, but what they may do for Him realizing the Spiritual riches raining down on them because of Jesus Christ’s perfect work performed on earth on their behalf.

Jesus Christ took up the cross primarily to glorify God the Father. Jesus Christ commands Christians to take up their cross and follow Him, and the primary reason remains the same; to glorify God. Subsidiary is Jesus Christ’s concern for all of humanity, and of course, this is the Christian’s secondary concern. Take the words of Jesus Christ Himself recorded in Matthew 22:35-40.

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Our Lord’s aspirations with word, and in action bespeaks the Father’s perfect will. Again, the order is apparent; God the Father first, and one’s neighbor is second.

The Scripture is unambiguous, and there is never any contradiction. Any perceived contradiction comes from man’s finite intellectual capacity {without the aid of the Holy Spirit of God, man is helpless relating to Scripture}. They nailed Jesus Christ to a tree, and He alone died in agony, shed His atoning blood for the sins of man. There are no Buddha, Muhammad, nor any Confucius. Once more, no such thing as an unsung, nebulous “higher power” that remains distant, hiding beyond the vastness of space and time.

How anyone can read the plain words of Scripture and diverge so radically and bring in the aforementioned idols is a tribute to Satan and company. Scripture warns us, however, of Satan and his legion’s counterfeit measures.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Sadly, many who profess Christianity have fallen prey to Satan and his wiles; a liberal theology that indulges many distant forms of religion. Only the Holy Ghost can conquer man’s blindness and enable him to see rightly; man, the frail, finite creature that he is.

We must take the whole of Scripture. Many, however, set themselves up as the authority and purpose to judge the Scripture; reasoning out of their own errant minds, and thus unwittingly become the dupes of Satan. The result is that a true conservative theology becomes a false liberal theology. Hence, all the aforementioned inventions and idols come into view. Liberal theology is so prevailing that we may characterize it as the norm. “Come one, come all” is the theme running wild within the mega churches. All forms of religion jumbled together in a hodgepodge of so-called faith. There is no certainty, no logical line of distinction from one to the next. A haze pervades the minds of those in conformity to what is essentially nothing; all groping for something they define as indefinite. A strong delusion has set in. Sound familiar?

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Let us pray, for we wish that none should perish.

Death Before Life

Matthew 26:50-54

50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.

52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

5 4But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

Our Lord’s purpose remained lost on the sword bearer. Yet, this same person, prior to this event, followed Jesus Christ claiming, like many others, that He was the long-awaited Messiah prophesied in Scripture. Scripture also revealed that our Lord would die for man’s transgressions against God. However, despite the revelation, our sword bearer rose to defend the Messiah at the time of trial. Later we read that some of our Lord’s followers denied Him; fearing guilt by their association. Once more, upon our Lord’s death on the cross, his followers were dismayed, feeling lost.

During the long period between the prophesy regarding our Lord’s life and death on earth and His appearance as man, doubt eased in adopting two forms; our Lord as Messiah and His true purpose for coming to earth.

Allow me to make a comparison between Christians and our Blessed Lord.

Matthew 16:24

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Many put themselves in the place of our Lord, as in Matthew 16:24. However, we may do well to compare ourselves to the one who took up his sword in Matthew 26:51. Sadly, this sword bearer, along with many who followed the Lord, held a bias towards the prophecy regarding our Lord. Instead of believing the bare word of God that the Messiah would surely die, they yielded to an illusion of absolute victory in their time.

The sword bearer perceived that those who rose against Jesus Christ were acting according to their own will. However, they were actually acting in accord with God’s will, as prophesied. Death was inevitable, and it had to come first in order to establish the glory that is to come later, hence, our Lord’s rise from the grave and the ascension to heaven; seated at the right hand of God the Father in the glory. Jesus Christ is the first in a long line of brethren.

2 Thessalonians 2:2-5

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

Something has to happen before our Lord returns to earth in all His glory and establishes His eternal reign; the reign of anti-Christ on earth. And Christians are on earth to take up our cross and follow our Blessed Lord. We will suffer persecution and death by the authorities acting according to the will of God {only they don’t believe this}, yet the Scripture is clear.

Revelation 17:17

For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

Not discounting the true Christians’ resolve to die upon their cross. I would, however, discount the understanding of many regarding the times and the purpose of those who are, and have been in positions of authority; just like the sword bearer. Perchance many Christians do not believe that these authorities have ever existed up to this time. Peradventure many are looking for the obvious; a regime suddenly rising from the pit, marked by naked brutality, and striving for world domination. Perhaps the position is more subtle, however.

World domination means world organization. The Nazis understood this, yet their means were decidedly ham-handed. Brute force was the dominant feature in their approach to establishing a “Third Reich.” God’s sovereign will can never cease. Therefore, unpleasant happenings are warnings, or chastisement for man’s continual rebellion against Almighty God. Should anyone be in doubt about this claim, ask yourself why God Almighty would allow such things as a World War I and II? These things result from God withdrawing His hand, allowing man to wallow in his own misery; they are wake-up calls for the entire world to see that life apart from God is pure folly; to repent and see one’s need for none other than Jesus Christ.

I would hazard that the Nazi era was a microcosm of what’s coming. I will go further, and I am not alone in this. It was a warning of the coming reign anti-Christ in accord with prophesy; a preview, if you will. Only the formation will be nothing like that of the Nazi’s of World War II with their overt aggression. A parable comes to mind: There’s two bulls standing on top of a mountain. The younger one says to the older one: “Hey, let’s say we run down there and spoil one of them cows”. The older one says: “No. Lets walk down and spoil ’em all”.

What we can expect is a slow, subtle graduation to the end. The formation will take place on a political platform rather than a military one. Policies will shape the world rather than armies. To put it more mildly; intellectual rather than primitive; mental rather than physical. It is a matter of perception. How does one view their political leaders and the world?

The actual battle ensued centuries ago; since the mid-1850s and the majority are completely unaware. Political leaders have involved us in an ongoing chess match with political leaders for some time. The public, however, believes in the system and their appointed leaders; taking them at face value; just as they appear on tellavision. The shift from primitive to intellectual has taken place in the minds of the public. Therefore, their realization of themselves is such that they can compete with the politicians, yet this is an overestimation of one’s true capacities.

Politicians have the full weight of intimate knowledge, formal organization, training, and education, money, influential contacts, and power. What mechanisms may the preponderance employ within the public domain? Essentially, the public may vote and nothing else. There is no organization. Training and education are of a 12th grade level. Money and influence and power belong with those who are wealthy.

The powers have prepared the environment that everybody operates in. Planned communities are really just nice ghettos. Everyone exists within the framework of the environment, carefully crafted by politicians. Everything is owned, and they have herded people into cities. We may operate within the bounds established for us by those who set the policies.

Total control is within reach. People of old worked, and the result was a home, food, water, clothing and so forth. People today work and the result is simply money. The money is used to pay businesses that supply, provide the public with ready-made homes, food, water, clothing and so forth. Essentially, the public works not to provide but to pay businesses to provide for them. Control of vital resources has shifted from the individual to the state controlled businesses. Government set this plan in motion way back in the mid-1850s to move people from agrarian life to city life for control. To the public, however, all looked well, and we were better off owing to the ease and comforts afforded. This plan came in through technological developments originating from both government and private business sectors. There was no legislation, just cooperation between both aforementioned parties.

Do your homework. You find that those who control the system you believe in have rolled you up into a neat little package. All that remains is the offering.

Jesus Christ came into this world to glorify the Father. God brings Christians into this world to glorify the Son. Jesus Christ suffered for performing the will of His Father. Christians will suffer for performing the will of the Son. The Father raised Jesus Christ. The Son will raise Christians.

John 6:44

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

One Authority {part two}

Did God purpose a written record of His word? We need only look to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His words when tempted by Satan in the wilderness.

Matthew 4:1-11

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Each instance our Blessed Lord replies with the words, “it is written.” This establishes that a written record was purposed by God. How was it purposed then?

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

To doubt the veracity of any portion of Scripture is to rely on one’s terminable judgment. Effectively one will end in creating their own version suitable to one’s carnal tastes. Truth becomes relative and we bring all things low; the denominator becomes man and his shady, mutable standards where there is no certainty whatever.

Finite man is subject to the Infinite God; this is the order. Man, the subject and Scripture applies scrutiny. To question the origin of the written Word of God betrays one’s unbelief.

Thankfully, there is guidance by Scripture itself as all those called into being must believe in and adhere to what we can characterize as an ‘irreducible minimum’ regarding true faith.

The Blessed Holy Trinity comprises God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 28:19

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

God chooses the elect for salvation.

John 6:44

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Jesus Christ, Son of God, born of a virgin.

Luke 1:31-35

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Jesus Christ the only mediator between God and man.

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Jesus Christ crucified for the sins of man.

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Jesus Christ’s ascension to heaven.

Acts 1:11

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Jesus Christ will return in all glory, execute final judgment.

Romans 14:10-11

10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

One Word, One Triune God, One Truth.

One Authority {part one}

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

A myriad of perceptions abound regarding the way of coming unto the Father, despite the unambiguous words of Jesus Christ. There is the claim that one may spend one’s life calling upon, and putting faith in a Buddha, Muhammad, or others in the same bracket. Another is that one can merely subscribe to the principle of an unsung “higher power.”

“Man writes every book, therefore, they are unreliable” {the declaration of a pious multitude}. Therefore, one may or may not choose to believe the words recorded in John 14:6. Hence, a Buddha or a Muhammad may step into the breach and receive the same honor that others reserve only for Jesus Christ; and all is well.

How do those religious know what portions of the bible they are so fond of quoting are true? We may look to television and the affluent pioneers of the mega-churches. These trailblazers will use dexterity; avoiding the erroneous passages of Scripture with ease. They possess a keen awareness of their grave responsibility; shying away from all pretenses. Observed, there is tacit approval by all parties not to utter any of the falsehoods detected in Scripture. Rather, the speaker glides past them owing to good taste and propriety; and all is well.

Such freedom of selection regarding Scripture must feel quite liberating. Gone are the shackles of that “old-time religion” that held man down for so many centuries. What do these professors of the divergent faith know about the lives, the exploits of John Wycliff, and William Tyndale? These two along with many others went willingly to their deaths rather than stray one jot or one tittle from the Scripture; and they are well.

Part 2 of this tract will explore the doctrinal view that God not only purposed a written record of His Word but also has kept His Word.

Earthly and Spiritual

1 Samuel 8:6-10

6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.

Verse 7 shows God’s regard towards the matter; and, in verse 9, Almighty God, in His inscrutable wisdom, allows this to take place yet does not bless, but warns of immanent consequences. God allows man to pursue self-government, and we owe this conclusion to God’s grace; not to be misconceived as an endorsement.

Matthew 19:7-8

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

Matthew 19:7-8 takes place as our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, arrives in Judea and a multitude follow to include the Pharisees. Our Savior answers a query put forward by the Pharisees regarding marriage.

God allows us to pursue certain objects. Clearly, however, this is not because of any intrinsic virtue in man; quite the contrary; it is because of the hardness of our hearts.

1 Corinthians 3:13

Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

His Name Above All Others

1 John 2:23

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

There is one name and there is one Son; and in His name there is Infinite power – Jesus Christ.

Acts 3:6-8

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Nobody will enter the Temple proclaiming any other name than Jesus Christ; there are no similitudes, alternatives, equivalents – whatever.

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Let us pray to the living God, Jesus Christ, that we may live in the following determination now!

Romans 14:11

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

May all hear the Apostle Peter’s words recorded in the book of Acts {affectionately called the book of Facts by some}.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Destination and Predestination

You say you don’t believe that God predestined certain people for destruction, therefore you agree with the Scripture:

Genesis 2:27-31

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

God created man for glory. One could rightly say that God created the original man for glory. It is at this very point where many have inquired into predestination; conceiving the ill notion that God created and predestined people for the lake of fire. However, this hypothesis completely breaks down when one reads Genesis 3:27-31.

The question arises, therefore, what is the origin of those described in the following Scriptural verses?

Romans 9:22

What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

Hebrews 3:10-11

Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

Ephesians 5:6

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

The “vessels of wrath fitted for destruction” did not originate at the point where God created Adam and Eve; they came in at the fall described:

Genesis 3:1-7

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

The children of disobedience originated at the fall owing to Satan’s guise and Adam and Eve’s rebellion against God. It is precisely at this point sin came into the world as we know it.

Romans 5:12

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

To say that God predestined man for the lake of fire is to frame God Himself for man’s demise-the suggestion is monstrous! Fault rests entirely with man who was living a life of bliss; in perfect communion with God. Man questioned God’s supremacy and became a fool; subject to life not under the sovereignty of God but under the dominion of Satan. There is no predestination regarding man for the lake of fire, whatever. There is predestination only for those who experience rebirth, baptism by the Holy Ghost in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Above, Romans 5:12 singly marks grave implications regarding sin and its motley demonstrations.

Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Revelation 19:15

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Something radical has to happen in order that man may begin afresh, and enter a right relationship with God the Father.

God’s dear Son, Jesus Christ left the courts of heaven and took on human nature, offered Himself a perfect sacrifice. Jesus Christ, the Author of Life scorned, beaten, spat upon, scourged, nailed to a tree, pierced, shed His saving blood, and died. Only this was not the end as the Father raised Him declaring satisfaction with the perfect work of His blessed Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life here on earth in order to save many.

The summary of historical facts in the preceding paragraph pertains to those called by the Father; ordained to enter the eternal glory that is to come.

John 6:44

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

What of those destined {not predestined} for eternal destruction? Surely, we are not callow regarding the Scriptural teaching that eternal damnation is a reality for many. Where do these people come from?

Acts 26:18

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

John 8:44

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Our Lord and Master addressing certain Scribes and Pharisees in John 8:44. The words of our Savior take us immediately back to the Garden of Eden, Satan, the fall of humanity. Clearly, those our Savior spoke to had not up to that point experienced the rebirth in their lives. There is no way back to the Garden of Eden apart from rebirth.

Predestination only pertains to those called into being by God since the fall of humanity.

John 10:25-30

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

Two Great Lessons

There are many who say they believe in God, but comparatively few enabled to know God. To know God means two things in any perceived crisis:

  1. those who do not know God need to know Him.

2. those who know God need to know Him better.

Those who say they believe in God yet in times of crisis long solely to get back to what was normal are betraying their lack of knowledge concerning God’s purposes; they haven’t seen the lesson; showing that they are trying to love the world and love God, and this will not do.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

To simply revert to what was normal means no growth; revealing a sense of self-satisfaction with what was regarding themselves and the world. Hence, there is no need to attain to a greater knowledge of God. What finite creature would claim satisfaction in their knowledge of the infinite, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God of Glory? The suggestion is monstrous!

Save any misunderstanding; one should pray for personal recovery from afflictions; an end to a war, or a famine. However, pray ultimately for God’s will in all things and not our own. Let us remember the end of our Lord and Master’s prayer in the garden of Gethsemane:

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Let us take heed particularly in these times of social unease and look to the Almighty God, and beg for mercy, grace; an accurate knowledge of Jesus Christ.

When There Is No Peace

Heaven on Earth Theology is going strong in College Park, GA, Houston, TX, St. Louis, MO, Apopka, FL, just to name but a few. The talk from the overseers of the movement is devoid of any unpleasantness spoken of by God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Note the following Scripture verses:

Matthew 24:21

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Luke 12:53

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Ephesians 5:6

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Not glad tidings, but ominous warnings of certain facts; history in the making. Scripture is essential. Christians ought to be aware, watchful, diligent in their conversation. Flag-bearers of the ‘Heaven on Earth Theology’ do not fail, however, in brushing aside these warnings; ignoring them altogether. Modern trendsetters lean heavily on the side of pleasantness, turning violently away from any unpleasantness.

There is one Gospel and one almighty Lord, Jesus Christ; trailblazers within the movement would readily agree. Withal, these pioneers sharply divide the Word of our Lord between convenient and inconvenient; cleaving to the convenient. Thus, one has a lopsided message; not a genuine message. Fact: the coming of the anti-Christ and his reign on earth which will precede our Lord’s everlasting reign.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

The elect will suffer and die like our Lord, who knew no sin. We will offer ourselves as a sacrifice in order that we may glorify God’s blessed Son.

Matthew 10:17-18

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

Revelation 13:7-9

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

To be sure, those partisans of the Heaven on Earth Theology cleave to a delicate, rosy, trouble-free message. However, there is no genuine effort or true understanding, and thus no genuine triumph.

Mark 8:35

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
