In an ultimate sense, and here on earth, truth is like pain. Without the power that comes from none other than Jesus Christ, truth is unbearable and therefore is to be avoided, naturally.
There is a common myth that people on earth love the truth concerning all things; thus, seek it out and operate in accord with it. Not so, otherwise there would be no such thing as denial or excuses, biases or prejudices. Like pain, people have different tolerances; some can take more than others, yet no natural person invites or even seeks that which they perceive may be painful, injurious to them.
Oh, to thank and praise our Lord as we ought!
