Rogue Traders

The consequence of living under a central governing authority requires the public to exercise wisdom regarding political matters. A viewpoint shared by late 18th-century Americans, leading up to the ratification of the United States Constitution in 1789.

Indeed, the venerated framers put forward an extensive standard as regards a responsible citizen’s political attitude. The Federalist of 1788, for example, connotes politics as routine, a way of life.

“Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government.” Thomas Jefferson (1789)

Ah yes, being well-informed involves relying on mainstream media that provides ready-made scripts, sparing the flock the grievance of engaging in independent analysis.

Personalized standards are easy to maintain. And partiality towards authority courses through the citizenry like vital fluid. So, when Congress approves a customary trillion-dollar deficit spending measure each September/October, the masses react by watching football. An autonomous decision to flee from accountability, born of intuition (staying true to one’s character). By chance, the imagination provides comfort to the stricken ego. One only needs to feign integrity until hell freezes over. Some choose to feign sleep and are relieved, albeit briefly, when the grave opens up and consumes them.

Note that the national administration sustains the public’s crude adaptation in silence, as it expected a crowning relapse shortly after assuming constitutional power over the unlettered masses. Proven by a citizenry that stands idle while warfare outside the bounds of the Constitution advances.

Leastwise, the principle of bias is nearly as old as dirt. God reveals Himself in creation and in Scripture. Still, an individual standard persists among deists engaging in reverie. Conjuring a divinity that gives no offense and whose precepts invariably cater to the lowest common denominator. Voila! No need for a savior.

Observe how secularists severally adopt the role of judge, rendering a tailormade version of morality (which never includes loving God). Nay, comprehensive standards lessen the value of recreation, idleness, and recreancy. One must stay true to one’s nature. Thus, chronic failure translates into orthodox achievement.

One’s motivation for arbitrarily lowering standards of conduct is to pacify oneself, since righteous governance is beyond any creature’s capacity. Yet, the secularist esteems human government as advertised: a wellspring of experience about societal framework. To Christians, God, as revealed, is supreme. Authority is the sole topic which every person eerily claims to be an authority. True Christians have faith in God and the revelation found in Scripture. Secularists rely on humankind.

Politicians possess glaring self-confidence, a willingness for office, and are most disadvantaged regarding avarice.

Based on plausibility, most people automatically accept mass market notions from the leadership (politicians described above). Should somebody raise a query, conformers take up a defence without having weighed the plausible yet contrary evidence. It is a matter of faith, therefore. Likewise, concerning Christianity. As the Scripture saith, “the just shall live by faith.” As a baseline, the aforementioned dissident may consider both sides of an argument prior to drawing a conclusion, whereas the traditionalist leans without restraint on partiality towards the perceived authority.

Those who reject Christianity, therefore, should indeed say they don’t have faith. Wholesale declarations of falsity betray prejudice. However, the Christian may proclaim Scripture to be true without fear of contradiction. The key is, that God-given faith comes before understanding. Yet in secular society, the proposition is completely backwards, with humankind relying intemperately on human wisdom, which naturally falls short.

Entertainment revenue figures show an impulse for self-gratification, involving myriad amusements that serve as diversions from reality. Collaterally, admissions of fear, bias, or plain ignorance serving as inner guides rarely surface, despite their historic prevalence among societies. Instead, citing knowledge and reason as the predicates for decision-making remains the craze. Yet another forgery, demonstrating the genius of self-deception.

Quick to adapt to physical threats, yet leisurely concerning cerebral injustices. A custom that conveys another pretense. It seems a person wielding a pen poses no real threat. Somebody brandishing a sword, however, requires immediate attention. Any simian can respond to physical danger. Withal, to perceive what humans are capable of, and devise adequate protections, is a cerebral matter. And the plague of denial arises from an absence of heartfelt shame concerning ‌humanity’s inherently sinful condition (no lack of evidence pointing towards human depravity). Hence, zoic outlooks circulate like pathogens among the faint-hearted masses living in fear of themselves. Call it an evil fortune, or a kiss of death….

It is paradoxical for humans to think proportionately to primitive essentials, like animals. (Basic provisions remain as such irrespective of the manner in which one garners them). Indeed, after 6,000 years, the hoi polloi still favor a sub-human outlook and behavior. By leveraging this posture, the noblesse probes the wretched public using writing instruments.

Again, the state government does not hold the citizenry accountable for their political foibles, and vice versa, for it suits both factions to languish in ever appalling conditions. And indiscretions like deficit spending, disbanding the Constitution and public insouciance resemble principal elements. Indeed, an inversion has taken place over 250 years.

The U.S. is a mistress, raised to captivate all nations. A beacon, and all together a shadow, nearing the end of a prolific span, leaving a fixed influence on concluding generations.
