Heaven on Earth Theology is going strong in College Park, GA, Houston, TX, St. Louis, MO, Apopka, FL, just to name but a few. The talk from the overseers of the movement is devoid of any unpleasantness spoken of by God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Note the following Scripture verses:
Matthew 24:21
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Luke 12:53
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Ephesians 5:6
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Not glad tidings, but ominous warnings of certain facts; history in the making. Scripture is essential. Christians ought to be aware, watchful, diligent in their conversation. Flag-bearers of the ‘Heaven on Earth Theology’ do not fail, however, in brushing aside these warnings; ignoring them altogether. Modern trendsetters lean heavily on the side of pleasantness, turning violently away from any unpleasantness.
There is one Gospel and one almighty Lord, Jesus Christ; trailblazers within the movement would readily agree. Withal, these pioneers sharply divide the Word of our Lord between convenient and inconvenient; cleaving to the convenient. Thus, one has a lopsided message; not a genuine message. Fact: the coming of the anti-Christ and his reign on earth which will precede our Lord’s everlasting reign.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
The elect will suffer and die like our Lord, who knew no sin. We will offer ourselves as a sacrifice in order that we may glorify God’s blessed Son.
Matthew 10:17-18
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
Revelation 13:7-9
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
To be sure, those partisans of the Heaven on Earth Theology cleave to a delicate, rosy, trouble-free message. However, there is no genuine effort or true understanding, and thus no genuine triumph.
Mark 8:35
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
