Modern Patriots

In view of circumstances, the electorate should cry off presidential elections until further notice. Concentrations given to crucial matters as how to halt deficit spending, obstruct the southern border, stem gender manias, hinder ethnic crazes, prevent satanism, block pornography, stop sex hysterias, impede hallucinogenic drug use, and check avarice. And that’s only a sketch.

Humanity has enjoyed ample opportunity to prove itself worthy of living autonomously of the true God. Despite historical accounts, the popular claim is people are intelligent and hold sway over actions. What better time to exercise mastery over events (or are we witnessing it). Spiteful collections of daredevils and madcaps plundering, blundering throughout provisional eras.

Cheerfully, an upcoming referendum promises decisive tranquility; suffering no consequences as regards prior misadventures. The sheer mention of the newfound chief will inspire certain fanatics to scurry back across the border to repute themselves elsewhere. Gripped by distress, Afghan beneficiaries of American military aid will drop their martial endowments like hot potatoes and flee to the mountains, leaving their upgraded nation in the dust. Cooperating Eastern powers will recognize their folly and disband, yielding pleas for clemency. We’ll kick the debt-can down the road, spelling four more years of whimsy.

“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.” ~ Abraham Lincoln | 1863

Americans grasp “for the people.” Alas, “by the people” is a diluted phrase meaning taking part in a quadrennial survey. Significance comes by reading the venerable Constitution plus rumination. The subtext of the document contains the value. Further, the seminal writings of erstwhile organizers provide explicit statements as regards general responsibilities, along with dire implications concerning laxity. Such dismal ramifications realized by President Wilson given the following quote from 1913:

“The government, which was designed for the people, has got into the hands of the bosses and their employers, the special interests. An invisible empire has been set up above the forms of democracy.” ~ Woodrow Wilson

Human beings are essentially lazy, compounded by indulgent lifestyles fostering incapacity. This state of affairs referred to as a “high standard of living” (emphasis on the word, high). We must not divorce the mental and physical aspects. More’s the pity, we remark physical weakness, while mental softness is unheeded. One will not find many sports persons within the intelligentsia. Translate the attention constituents give to political legislation into daily occupations and large-scale joblessness would overshadow the nation with disastrous fallouts; the entertainment industry would dissolve.

Politicians are incapable of virtue, like those who vote for them. People are evil, officers and electorates alike.
