As my parents grow older
They feel exceeding colder
Attitudes wax even bolder
Always a scarf ‘round their shoulder
Turning up the heat
Drawing me out
It’s a battle of wills
An insufferable bout
My state of youth begins to wane
Now, I too, am catching the pain
Like sheep, I bleat
Feel it mostly in my feet
Not so sweet
Old Age seems obsolete
