The gentry proclaims “dependence today, tomorrow, and forever” to the insistent yaps of the preponderance. A global society deprived of basic life skills in the wake of immediate progress marks the winter of life.
Mass production of slender personalities yields a standardized universal society. Nay, the more one relies on amenities, the less one analyzes, but assumes. So, resultant uncertainty strengthens trust in organizers for sustenance. By stark contrast, independence demands a broad spectrum of thought/action based upon individual temperament (withal, we have intrinsic variety). High-volume manufacturing of petite types, however, has levelled humanity and pressed parallelism beyond possibility.
Chimeric best describes living conditions where dynamic phantoms endure—animating plain wights at will. Bound by mischievous faith, trifling mortals therefore hurl reason into oblivion and endorse border incursions, deficit spending, imprecise marriages, genetic code trials, and so forth. Observe, the common artisan spares no effort to maintain a defective “standard of living” and even varnishing intellect. “Gilding the lily” in orthodox fashion.
