Novelists write in a manner that appeals to eighth grade learners, the same for tell-a-vision presenters. Should a person esteem mainstream media, for example, as the pinnacle of understanding events, then one assumes the same low ceiling, and by virtue feels no need for further analysis. Thus, media broadcasts become a substitute for individual reflection as cohesions start by summoning gurus that magically materialize on a glass screen, supplying readymade perceptions. Proprietors offer finished products, allowing buyers to forgo the labor of forming the matter. Labor includes visible and invisible acts, yet we neglect acts of thought, for they are unseen. People who grieve over fuel prices, for instance, disclose the level they’re influenced by, or dependent on, fuel providers. Similarly, people grieve over media information. Knowledge is a matter of conscience; and to depend on an outside body to regulate it betrays feebleness.
Endeavors to rid humanity of innate flaws by altering the soma and psyche appear as trans-humanism; merging physiology with technology. Predicting behavioral tendencies via high-tech devices determines interventions comprising psychotropic drugs or biological implants. However, everyone is guilty of particular thoughts contrary to law, and so hysteria increases as inhabitants try to avoid detection by the ubiquitous “thought police.” Until inevitable detection, panic runs rife within the masses; and eventually the majority submits to intervention and tread the earth (veritable zombies). The authority determines to force those who refuse to the fringes where hard labor, malnutrition, and death ensue. “The world will become like Nazi Germany, only more high-tech and ten times as lethal.” Ever more, the hoi polloi may regard themselves as Jews of that era.
Prior to any martial confrontation—which augurs annihilation—a subtle form of warfare, subversion takes place. The mixed multitude will not form into an organized coalition and provide for themselves to prevail against imminent attack. Subjugation has already taken place owing to modern lifestyles advancing dependence on proprietors for critical supplies; this circumstance militates against dispersed individuals that may pressure the controlling establishment (as witnessed, for instance, in Canada). Populaces glory in hidebound prosperity which furthers division and want—this is paradoxical. So, inward erosion prepares the way for the outward invasion as predicted by ruling classes. Built-up electorates line up and vote in favor of open oppressors owing to loyalty, not intellect. Voters possess intelligence yet prefer readymade perceptions via mainstream news, which spares viewers from the strain of independent analysis thus produces willing targets.
Concerning ‘the mark,’ a radio host states, “let us not say as Christians this is a fulfillment of bible prophecy,” adding that “we must resist the beast.” Alas, the commentator allows pride to override his senses. By casting prophecy to the wind, he hopes to preserve a life of novelty. The Waldenses engaged in mortal combat instigated by the Roman Church in 1215, and rightly so. Today, the enemy employs armored vehicles, attack helicopters, jet aircraft, along with chemical weapons (reference the FBI assault of 1993). The disparity in weaponry compared to the 13th century martial conflict is important to note. Moreover, the Waldenses could provide for themselves—not so in today’s milieu, for the enemy controls all vital assets. To maintain bible prophecy is to know the times; whether one accepts—as the commentator demonstrates—is another matter.
At the proper time, we shall sacrifice ourselves without taking the mark, unblemished, which is in line with Scripture as opposed to clashing with an opponent wielding awe-inspiring military capability.
Luke 17:33
“Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.”
